Dr Alessandro Soncini

Alessandro Soncini is Senior Lecturer at the School of Chemistry of the University Melbourne.  After receiving his PhD in Theoretical Chemistry in 2003 from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy) with Prof. Paolo Lazzeretti, he worked as researcher in several Universities and Centres of Excellence accross Europe, including the University of Exeter (UK), the University of Leuven (Belgium), the Centre for Theoretical and Computational Chemistry (Norwegian Centre of Excellence, University of Olso, Norway), and the Institute for Nanoscale Physics and Chemistry (Flemish Centre of Excellence, University of Leuven, Belgium).  His primary research interests are in the theory of the electronic structure, magnetic properties, and spin dynamics, in lanthanide-based single-molecule magnets.  See www.sonciniresearchgroup.com/research .
