Professor Lloyd Hollenberg

Lloyd Hollenberg is the Thomas Baker Chair at the University of Melbourne, an ARC Laureate Fellow, and Deputy Director of the Australian Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology. He completed his PhD in 1989 in particle physics and changed fields to quantum science and technology in 2000. He is well known internationally for his work in quantum science and technology spanning a range of areas from quantum computing to quantum magnetometry and sensing in biology, including theoretical and experimental contributions. He has received a number of awards, including the 2012 Australian Institute of Physics Boas Medal, the 2013 Victoria Prize, the 2013 Eureka Prize for Interdisciplinary Research, and the 2016 Royal Society of Victoria Medal.
